Transitional Trends for Makeup

Hey loves

I can't believe, we will soon be talking about Christmas and thinking about changing up our makeup bags, and bringing in some nice Autumn and Winter shades.

With autumn on the horizon, it’s time to embrace transitional trends. Here are some essential investments for your makeup bag

Bronze and blush

In the summer months, many of us like to add a little colour to the cheeks and enhance our natural glow with a slick of bronzer or a flush of coral or peach blush. As we move into autumn, you can update your makeup bag with new shades of blush and experiment with tones of pink, berry and plum. Opt for shades that complement your natural skin tone and don’t be afraid to experiment with different colours and try new looks. You might prefer an understated aesthetic for work or daytime wear and a bolder, more eye-catching look for the evening or a special occasion, for example.

Mascara

If you’re on the hunt for a new mascara, it’s understandable to run into difficulties when it comes to narrowing down the options. The range of products is vast, and every mascara promises to deliver spectacular fluttery lashes. As temperatures start to fall, it’s wise to consider the conditions when choosing new makeup products. If your eyes tend to water when it’s cooler outside, for example, you could embrace the new trend in mascaras and opt for a tubular mascara. These products are designed to prevent smudging to keep your lashes looking fabulous all day long come rain or shine. You could also invest in waterproof mascara. For a different look, you may also want to consider a variety of colours. If you love to play around with products to create distinctive results, why not swap black or brown for blue-black, vivid blue or green?

Foundation

Many of us use the same foundation all year round. While you might have found the product of your dreams, it can be beneficial to vary your base. When it’s colder outside, hydrating foundations are ideal for those with dry and combination skin. You might also find that you want to alter the shade slightly if you’ve been away or out in the garden and you have a summer tan. As autumn approaches and your skin gets lighter, you can switch to a slightly lighter tone for a flawless finish. If you are thinking about swapping your foundation, and you don’t know where to begin, it’s helpful to read reviews and seek advice from beauty and skincare experts. Always take time to colour match before you buy. If you’re a fan of the natural look and you don’t want to be able to feel the product on your skin, opt for a lightweight foundation, a tinted moisturiser or a BB or CC cream.

It may still be summer but time flies, and soon the leaves will be tumbling from the trees and it’ll be dark at 5pm. With autumn around the corner, it’s a great idea to start thinking about investments for your makeup bag. Take these tips on board to embrace transitional trends.
