Beauty in belief event 2019

Hey lovelies

So it's been quite a few months since I have been on my website, as to be honest I was concentrating on the social media side of blogging a lot more, but if I am honest I have missed it. I have missed sitting down and just writing so to start the process off, I thought what better way than to tell you all about the event I put on a few weeks ago.

A couple of years ago I started to feel I wanted to put my own event on, one where we could all go, learn to feel amazing but also have a great day out with prosecco, fashion and makeup. I wanted the day to be inspiring, uplifting and allow us to all feel invincible.
I am sick of seeing the perfect lives on social media it needs to get real and that's what I strive to do everyday, I want to show anyone watching and listening that it's ok not be down, in jammies etc but as long as we dist ourselves off and try again that's the main thing.

This is where beauty in belief was born, there is beauty in everything if you just believe.

So on 13th October in the Magherabuoy Portrush 157 ladies and 3 men came together to meditate, laugh, have afternoon tea and have fun and boy did we have fun.
I think it's only hitting me now the enormity of it all
We decided to raise some money for two amazing charities Inspire Wellbeing NI a mental health charity and Diabetes NI which is super close to my heart. In total we raised just under £630 for each charity on the day.

When deciding who and what to have involved in the day, a few people and brands where instant no brainers
Our host had to be Annette Kelly from Little Penny Thoughts, she just radiates light and I knew she'd be the woman to keep the full day flowing and boy I wasn't wrong. When I was late from the fashion show she had everyone up dancing, when I was nervous she reminded me to believe in myself and in all honesty I couldn't have done the day without her.

Makeup by Julie was top of the list for our makeup demo. I love everything she stands for, she's a real woman, says it how it is and is just a fab girl, her demo went down a storm.

Louise McDonnell or LMD as we all know her has came such a long way in her journey, she spoke soo well and had us all in stitches.

Nikcollette from The Nurturing Nook was actually one of the first people I approached to be on the day and she came up with the most uplifting session of meditation and affirmations

Karen Shirlow who is a therapist came and spoke so passionately about mental health and how therapy can be beneficial in so many ways.

I did a little presentation on self care and how vital I feel it is today.

We had an amazing panel talk about body confidence and everything that goes along with that in today's society.

Debenhams Ireland provided us with our clothes etc for the size inclusive fashion show, and having Emma with me on the day was a true blessing. Chris and the team from Castlecourt were a dream to work with as we're Yasmin and Arlene our stylists for the day. All the models were stunnnnnning on the day and the feedback from the show was amazing especially with regards to us having size 10 up to 26.

We enjoyed afternoon tea, candy carts, donuts, cupcakes and prosecco not to mention the most amazing goodie bags.

We had Miss Greedy Edie burlesque performer and Alice Tate providing our entertainment.

I am going to link all of our sponsors and partners for the day because without them this day would not have been the success it was, who knows what 2020 will bring for Beauty in Belief

Our goodie bags all detailed above were insane and i couldn't thank them all enough for giving all these amazing items

I cannot begin to say thanks to everyone enough for everything, from my friends like Charlene and Gillian who listened to me at midnight some nights having a crisis of confidence, Victoria and Donna Louise always making me feel I could take on the world, and not forgetting my amazing daddy and husband. Scott you were literally my rock and Daddy making sure I ate, took meds and didn't forget to rest.

To all the brand's and companies who give time and their services, our speakers, the hotel staff, and everyone else I am so so grateful and who knows maybe I will be sending a wee email next year for a 2020 event.

So for now everyone remember if you want to do something bad enough you can, I watched all the attendees laughing, crying, enjoying the day and not gonna lie I had to walk away a couple of times, who would have thought I could pull that off!!

Till next time lovelies
Keep dreaming and striving
I promise you it's worth it
Ali x
