Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation Review

Hey lovelies, hope you're all fab today and looking forward to the cosy nights coming up.
So today, I am back with a foundation review. I think we are always searching for that perfect foundation, one that lasts well, isn't cakey and works well with other products. It's so hard to find one that is going to work with my combination oily skin.
If any of you follow me on social media you will know I have huge issues keeping foundation on my nose, but ladies and gents take a seat, I have found one that is definitely worth shouting from the rooftops.

For months I have heard lots of my girls rave about this foundation and lots of my followers on social media have been asking for my opinions on the Wet and Wild Photo Focus Foundation. This brand can be quite hard to get in the North and I always travel to the Penny's in Letterkenny to get my fix. I wasn't holding out much hope that I would get it as it has been so popular, but it's like it was meant to be as the foundation was there. I must admit I did a little makeup dance, tell me it's not just me 😂
For all us ladies in the north my girl Gillian from Eyelinerflicks Blog found an amazing stand in Belfast in Kings Square, So we all know where I am headed next day I am in the city.

So off I popped home ready to get beautified. So the foundation itself is a very light consistency, but the innovation behind it, is to give a matte effect  with the look of a gorgeous filter without having to use a filter. It was also tested under numerous lighting conditions to ensure it doesn't give that white flashback effect.
The bottle itself is glass, with a little paddle to bring out the product. Personally, I loved this idea as it let's you bring out a little at a time and the hygiene aspect of being able to clean the stick very easily is fab.
I have to admit there is definitely a distinctive smell with the product but once it's on and settled on the skin there is no smell at all.

So onto the testing itself. I decided to initially try with primers to test the longevity etc. I used my Makeup Forever mattifying primer on forehead and chin and my No7 pore minimising primer on nose. Then I brought out some product and start on the centre of my face and worked out, using my Real Techniques sponge. The product itself is beautiful to work with and doesn't dry overly quickly. It blended in beautiful and went to a nice semi matte finish.
If you follow me on social media, you know the true test of a foundation with me is my nose, and this combined with my primer did not disappoint.
I did powder as I get super oily and I got around 6 hours before I got slightly shiny on forehead. This for me was fab! So needless to say I was very impressed.

I decided to try it without primer and in a crazy hot Galgorm Spa Normally I would never do this with a foundation as it always ends up an oily mess, but with the photo focus, I got around 4 hours of no shine with no powder. I was amazed!

Guys honestly for a few pounds this is really worth trying out.  I have high end foundations that don't perform half as well as this one does.
Using this foundation does not leave me cakey and it feels so light on the skin. I would say initially it is a medium coverage but it is very easily buildable.

I find myself reaching for this one all the time now, so I need to pick myself up a darker shade for tanned days and get back ups for sure.

Let me know if you guys have tried this foundation and what you thought.
Till next time lovelies, if you head to buy it please leave some for me
Ali xx

  1. I'm so glad you like this as much as I do! I can't get enough! I have so many high end foundations that are nowhere near as good! xx

  2. Have never tried any Wet n Wild stuff so I'm very intrigued! Lastin power is pretty high on my make-up worries especially since like you my forehead and nose seem to be the most bothersome area for keeping foundation on because they get super oily. I might have to see if I can find some of this and give it a wee go!
