Hey my lovelies!
Today I have a nice review; it’s a new foundation I have
been using recently. I have to admit normally I go for a higher end foundation,
but since seeing so many good reviews on this I decided why not give it a
whirl. It has become one of Rimmels most famous products and with lots of
respected bloggers and youtubers raving about it, I knew I had to purchase it
obviously for research purposes, not just for the fact I decided I wanted a
little Boots shopping spree.
The foundation comes in 6 shades, and I looked online and instantly
knew I would need the lightest one as this pasty Irish girl is as white as
Caspar the friendly ghost and I only tan for nights out. My store didn’t have
the light porcelain but when looking at the testers I actually felt the ivory
100 suited me better. One thing I did notice was that the colours didn’t go
very dark so I don’t think for someone with darker skin tones it would be
suitable. So I picked this up and a couple of other Rimmel products but more
about those in an upcoming favourites video.
This claims to have 25hr staying power, now I personally wouldn’t
wear my makeup for more than 15 hours and that would be a long day at a
wedding, normally it’s around 8-10 hours. I am the kind of person who when I can
I will be fresh faced! It has spf20
included which I was super impressed by as I am starting to realise I need to
use SPF a lot more for prevention purposes. It also claims it is non-transferable
so this was something I was very interested in as I hate foundations that rub
off. White shirt and foundation equals an unhappy Ali.
I used my normal skincare then used my favourite primer
which at the moment is the MUA primer. I decided to use my Real Techniques
sponge and then buff it in with the Expert Face Brush. The bottle is glass and
has a pump which is so rare for a drugstore foundation, so I was super happy
about this; too many times I have poured out some foundation and wasted it so
this is definitely a bonus. I only needed just over one pump for my full face
so I know this will last a good while.
I applied the foundation and buffed it in. It applied
flawlessly and blended it well with just a little bit of tackiness to the skin
which faded after a couple of minutes. My skin felt lovely and soft. My
forehead and nose are my real problem areas when it comes to dry skin. Around
my nose I had no issues whatsoever but on my forehead near my hairline it clung
to the little dry patches. You can see from the pictures my nose wasn’t dry at
all, and the foundation worked pretty well on my redness. As it was a night out
I lightly powdered as I knew I would get oily through the night. My skin really
has a mind of its own.
I wore this all night from about 7pm to 2am and I would say
that after a few hours I was noticing that it was separating round my dry nose
and again at the forehead. By the end of the night after quite a bit of dancing
and extra powdering it looked ok. It wasn’t bad looking but it wasn’t as
flawless as it was at the beginning of the night at all.
I think for me this is going to be a good foundation to use
mixed with another one to help the dryness. I will definitely keep using it as
it did last well and the coverage and feeling on my skin was fab.
I will definitely be looking to try some more of Rimmels foundations,
as I adore their wake me up concealer and stay matte powder.
Give this a go I really think you will be pleased

I tried the original version of this one - not the Nude one and I found the same with it - it separated a fair bit throughout the day. I found it lasted better on a day when I was out and about rather than sitting in the office so maybe my natural oils actually helped the finish :p
ReplyDeleteI thought the nude version would be better than the original so I think I'll certainly still keep an eye out for it and give it a go.
