Review of MUA lip liner in Pink me Up

Hey my lovelies
Hope you are all fab today
So I never have been a huge lip liner fan, maybe it was due to the fact I never truly knew the benefits or maybe I hadn’t found the right one, but now without a doubt I have and the best thing it’s £1. It’s the MUA lip liner in pink me up. It’s a pink with slightly red undertones.

Its lovely and creamy and goes on quite shimmery, but don’t let this put you off underneath a lippie its gorgeous. I have been teaming this up with a few different pinks ranging from quite bright ones down to muted toned shades.
This liner just makes everything stick and I am not having to retouch my lipstick as much at all. I have since buying this one bought a few others from higher end brands and I keep reaching for this MUA one. I never thought I would be saying that. MUA have included a few other shades in the range and they include:
Caramel Nougat a deep nude colour, I could see this going gorgeous with the famous velvet teddy from Mac
Clear, this is definitely one I will be picking up, as I think it would be great for days when I still want a defined line with just a little gloss
Softly Lined is another pink shade, but seems to not have as much shimmer in it
Red Drama, this is your gorgeous classic red
Brooding Plum is a deep plum colour and I definitely think I will be reaching for this in Autumn
All in all I don’t think you can go wrong with a liner at £1, there is a shade here that will work with most lipsticks. I am interested in trying the red one all over my lips to see what type of colour it would give.
If all the other colours are as pigmented and good texture as the pink me up then these will fast become a staple in my collection
These can be bought here, or in Superdrug
Have you tried any of these?

Last Minute Fathers Day Gifts

Hey my lovelies!
Hope you are all doing fab!
Fathers Day always seems to crop up on me without me realising it, I think it's partly due to mummys birthday being on the 12th and my mind gets so preoccupied with that.
This year I was determined to be prepared and get Daddy Preener all sorted. He is a creature of habit and so is his gifts he gets, jumpers, shirts and trousers and Lynx Africa deodorant!
I always get him a little trinket to put on his windowsill in his computer room, and this year I grabbed a little No. 1 Dad trophy.
I know for me its easy to buy my Daddy, but looking at my facebook it is clear to see people struggle, and with the day only around the corner, I thought I would write a little quick post on a few ideas that can either be bought in store, online with quick delivery or collection to a store.

1. Star Wars Messenger Bag  £24.99
I love this bag and I know my hubby would adore it! "Man Bags" have become so popular and Mr Preener has a nice collection including Marvel, Joker and Batman, can you see a recurring comic book theme here. This bag can be ordered online and picked up in store within 4 days giving you enough time. Some larger Argos stores will have it in stock there and then. You can buy it here

2. Arcade Mania 75 in 1 Games Machine £999.99
If you are feeling like really treating Dad then why not spoil him with this retro gaming machine! Just think put this in his man cave room and you can enjoy your soaps in peace, or is that just the thinking I would take! Again this is from Argos but is solely home delivery and can be 5 days, go check it out here

3.Jeff Banks Shirt £19
If your Dad is anything like mine, he appreciates anything, and he loves a classic striped blue shirt, I am sure Daddy Preener has 10 of these in his wardrobe. This is from Debenhams and they offer free next day click and collect or their standard delivery. This is a classic shirt with slight tailoring for a more fitted feel which all dads would love to add to their collection. Grab it here

4. Maine Pyjama Set £18
This gorgeous pyjama set comes with a wine ribbed top and long bottoms. The great thing with this set is that it can be mixed and matched with items your Dad might already have, and at £18 its a great bargain. Grab it here from Debenhams.

5. Elemis Anti Fatigue Roll on Eye Gel £25
This Elemis eye gel would be a great addition to any Dads grooming routine. My dad gets very tired and sore eyes from using a computer for many hours a day, so this is something I definitely would consider getting him. Asos are really coming up trumps with their beauty sections recently and its now not a matter of clothes for me its a whole other shopping spree. Find it here. Asos do different delivery services dependant on your location, but they have only ever taken 3/4 days max to deliver to me.

6. Tweezerman Multi Use Tool Keyring £20
This is a fab little invention, and Tweezerman is a brand you can trust so you know it will be good quality. My dad would definitely love this as its gadgety but practical. Find it here from Asos.

7. Hugo Boss Wallet and Card Holder Set £139
For a lovely treat you can't beat a nice leather wallet and Hugo Boss is a brand that exudes luxury and class. Hubby has been eyeing this pic up and I might treat him for Christmas. Shop for it here again from Asos.

8.Pickmaster Plectrum Punch £16.95
Prezzybox is a site I always head to when I am looking for gifts with an edge, and this plectrum punch has not let me down. I know lots of friends who would adore this, and if your Dad loves a wee bit of guitar then this could be the perfect gift. Head here and snap this up at. This company aims for a few days delivery so get your skates on if you fancy it.

9.Present for my Dad £9.95
This has to be one of the cutest gifts I have ever set my eyes on. Another winner from Prezzybox. Basically its a book talking about a journey a child goes on to find the perfect gift, but in the end the child decides to buy their dad a pair of bright socks to show them how much they brighten up their day. Cuteness overload here

10. Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Aftershave £54.99
Sometimes a nice classic bottle of aftershave is the best idea. This is one of the hottest scents and brands at the moment. Head here to Boots to grab this. You can get this in store, or get it delivered to your house or store. Boots making shopping far too easy!!

Of course it doesn't just need to be a Dad you can buy for on Fathers Day, you can spoil your Grandpa, StepDad or even your hubby if you guys have wee ones. Lets show the men in our lives just how much we love and appreciate them!
I hope I have given you some last minute ideas to buy, let me know what you are planning on getting the special man in your life.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Nude Foundation Review

Hey my lovelies!
Today I have a nice review; it’s a new foundation I have been using recently. I have to admit normally I go for a higher end foundation, but since seeing so many good reviews on this I decided why not give it a whirl. It has become one of Rimmels most famous products and with lots of respected bloggers and youtubers raving about it, I knew I had to purchase it obviously for research purposes, not just for the fact I decided I wanted a little Boots shopping spree.

The foundation comes in 6 shades, and I looked online and instantly knew I would need the lightest one as this pasty Irish girl is as white as Caspar the friendly ghost and I only tan for nights out. My store didn’t have the light porcelain but when looking at the testers I actually felt the ivory 100 suited me better. One thing I did notice was that the colours didn’t go very dark so I don’t think for someone with darker skin tones it would be suitable. So I picked this up and a couple of other Rimmel products but more about those in an upcoming favourites video.

This claims to have 25hr staying power, now I personally wouldn’t wear my makeup for more than 15 hours and that would be a long day at a wedding, normally it’s around 8-10 hours. I am the kind of person who when I can I will be fresh faced!  It has spf20 included which I was super impressed by as I am starting to realise I need to use SPF a lot more for prevention purposes. It also claims it is non-transferable so this was something I was very interested in as I hate foundations that rub off. White shirt and foundation equals an unhappy Ali.

I used my normal skincare then used my favourite primer which at the moment is the MUA primer. I decided to use my Real Techniques sponge and then buff it in with the Expert Face Brush. The bottle is glass and has a pump which is so rare for a drugstore foundation, so I was super happy about this; too many times I have poured out some foundation and wasted it so this is definitely a bonus. I only needed just over one pump for my full face so I know this will last a good while.

I applied the foundation and buffed it in. It applied flawlessly and blended it well with just a little bit of tackiness to the skin which faded after a couple of minutes. My skin felt lovely and soft. My forehead and nose are my real problem areas when it comes to dry skin. Around my nose I had no issues whatsoever but on my forehead near my hairline it clung to the little dry patches. You can see from the pictures my nose wasn’t dry at all, and the foundation worked pretty well on my redness. As it was a night out I lightly powdered as I knew I would get oily through the night. My skin really has a mind of its own.

I wore this all night from about 7pm to 2am and I would say that after a few hours I was noticing that it was separating round my dry nose and again at the forehead. By the end of the night after quite a bit of dancing and extra powdering it looked ok. It wasn’t bad looking but it wasn’t as flawless as it was at the beginning of the night at all.

I think for me this is going to be a good foundation to use mixed with another one to help the dryness. I will definitely keep using it as it did last well and the coverage and feeling on my skin was fab.

I will definitely be looking to try some more of Rimmels foundations, as I adore their wake me up concealer and stay matte powder.

Give this a go I really think you will be pleased
